7 on / 7 off; 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Monday-Sunday (12-hour days)
Setting: Inpatient Child & Adolescent psychiatry unit (ages 13-17)
Team: 1 Psychiatrist + 1 MHNP
Unit size/census: 25 beds; ~20 average census; ~10-day average length of stay
Daily workload: Rounds on 10-14 patients; 2-3 admissions/day; 2-3 discharges/day
Typical cases: Depression with suicidal ideation; mania/mood dysregulation; occasional early-onset psychosis
EMR: Meditech
Requirements: Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
