- Scope: Adult cardiac and thoracic surgery (CABG, valve repair/replacement, thoracic procedures, lung resections, emergency cardiac procedures, thoracic trauma management).
- Duties: 24-hour emergency call; inpatient and ED consultations; operative coverage; postoperative evaluation and management.
- Call response: phone within 15 minutes; on-site within 30 minutes; remain available for emergent consults/operations during call period.
- Collaboration with Trauma Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care/Intensivists, and Radiology.
- Patient volume: 30.
- EMR: Meditech, Patient Keeper, eCW.
- Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery, Active Florida medical license and DEA.
