Call: 1:3 call rotation with 30-minute response time
Practice Setting: Inpatient Gastroenterology
Patient Volume: 0-6 patient encounters per 24-hour call shift
EMR: Epic
Licensing: Active Missouri license or IMLC required
Board Certification: Board Certified Gastroenterology
Required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS
Required Training: Gastroenterology Fellowship
Required Skills: Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, bleeding control, variceal treatment, PEG placement, esophageal dilation, esophageal manometry and interpretation, small bowel biopsy, flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy, liver biopsy, and Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management
Not Required: EUS; ERCP generally not required for call coverage
Call Details: Approximately 0-5 phone consults, 0-3 patients seen, and 0-2 admissions per 24-hour call shift
Facility: Level III Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric services
Credentialing: Approximately 90 days
